Honey Glazed Ham

Honey Glazed Ham

This dish is ideal for the Christmas season. The warm sweet flavouring of the glaze perfectly complements the scrumptious ham. Being a staple Christmas dish, your guests will eat this up in no time whether it be hot on a plate or cold in a nice leftover sandwich on Boxing Day. Enjoy!

Difficulty: Medium

Ingredients

1

Ingredients

900 g unsmoked ham shank
enough water to cover
1 onion (peeled and halved)
1 celery stalk (roughly chopped)
2 bay leaves
10 pepper corns
whole cloves

Glaze

1 tbsp runny honey
1 tbsp English mustard
1 handful cloves

Steps

STEP 1

Place all the ingredients except the honey, mustard, and cloves in a very large casserole dish. Place on the base of the oven and cook on HIGH MICROWAVE for 15 mins then MEDIUM MICROWAVE for 15- 20 mins per 450g. Drain and set aside to cool for 15 mins.

STEP 2

Mix the honey and mustard together.

STEP 3

Use a small knife to remove the rind from the ham shank, leaving as much of the fat intact as possible. Score the fat in a diamond pattern, and push a clove into the centre of each X. Brush over half of the glaze.

STEP 4

Preheat the oven on CONVECTION 180°C + GRILL 1, cook for 10-15 mins. Spread over the remaining glaze halfway through cooking.
