Steak and Ale Pie
Steak and ale pie always makes a tasty and hearty meal.

Ingredients

450 g cubed braising steak
25 g seasoned flour
150 g mushrooms
2 sliced carrots
1 diced onion
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tsp thyme
275 ml hot beef stock
350 g ready-made puff pastry
1 egg (beaten)
Steps
STEP 1
Coat the steak in the seasoned flour and place in a casserole dish with all the pie filling ingredients. Cover, place in the oven, and cook on CONVECTION 160°C + WARM MICROWAVE for 1hr 15 mins or until the meat is tender. Transfer to the pie tin.
STEP 2
Preheat the oven on CONVECTION 220°C.
STEP 3
Roll out the pastry big enough to fit the top of the pie tin and place on top, brush with beaten egg or milk, and place on the enamel shelf in the lower shelf position. Cook for 20-25 mins or until golden and cooked through.
