In 2017, Panasonic topped off the LUMIX GH series with the DC-GH5. It was the world‘s first Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) camera capable of internal recording 4K 60p/50p video or 4K 30p 4:2:2 10-bit video. It quickly became the star of the Micro Four Thirds System community.

For the first time in the LUMIX GH series, the DMC-GH5 was equipped with a Body I.S. (Image Stabilizer) and compensated for up to 5-stop in 5-axis.

The new Venus Engine processor featured high-speed processing and professional video and photo quality.

2018 got off to a bang for photo enthusiasts: to mark the tenth anniversary of the LUMIX G series, Panasonic unveiled the DC-G9, its new top Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) camera for professional Micro Four Thirds System users and demanding amateurs.

The DC-G9 boasts the world's highest compensation power of 6.5-stop, both as body 5-axis Body I.S. alone and as 5-axis Dual I.S. 2.

The fully weather-proof housing contained an exceptionally fast autofocus system with DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology which allowed an incredible 20 frames per second with AFC. The DC-G9 also focused within approximately 0.04 seconds – the world‘s fastest speed.

Other outstanding features included a large OLED viewfinder with a 3.68 million dots resolution, a display speed of up to 120 frames per second and an incredible 0.83x viewfinder magnification (35mm camera equivalent).
