This strategic move came about after Panasonic’s successful engagement with IPI’s open innovation platform, Innovation Marketplace, where the company listed 42 technologies, received 174 inquiries, and conducted 26 proof-of-concept (PoC) projects. Its eventual aim is to further translate these PoCs into real business opportunities and expand the market, as the collaboration aims to create new growth opportunities by connecting Panasonic’s advanced technologies with local startups and SMEs. The focus will spotlight on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital transformation, in enabling co-creation of innovative products, services, and solutions.

Dr. Ando Takeshi, Managing Director of Panasonic R&D Center Singapore, said “We are excited to strengthen our collaboration with IPI, leveraging Panasonic’s advanced technologies within Singapore’s vibrant innovation ecosystem. This partnership marks a key milestone in our shared commitment to co-create solutions that tackle real-world challenges and unlock new growth opportunities. By combining Panasonic’s expertise with IPI’s strong network of startups and SMEs, we aim to accelerate open innovation and deliver sustainable value across the region.”

TechInnovation, organized by IPI Singapore, is an event that offers companies access to a global network of technology partners such as industry leaders, enterprising innovators, technology seekers, and solution providers such as Panasonic Group. Our company’s participation in this event also acts as a bridge between Singapore and Japan based enterprises. One of the successful initiatives, Japanese Corporates Technology Innovation Launchpad (JCTI Launchpad), was originally conceptualized through a joint effort under the MoU two years ago, has now evolved with concrete activities progressing steadily.
