We acknowledge our obligation to maintain and nurture the ecology of this planet. Accordingly, we pledge ourselves to the prudent, sustainable use of the earth's resources and the protection of the natural environment while striving to fulfill our corporate mission of contributing to enhanced prosperity for all.

Reduction in Product Power Consumption

While cordless telephones are among the least power-consuming electrical appliances used in homes or offices, Panasonic is implementing measures to further reduce the power consumption of these products.
It is a fact that when the distance between the base unit and a cordless handset is short, a strong radio signal is not necessary. Taking advantage of this, When someone talks on a handset at a location close to the base unit, the electric field strength automatically suppresses the output to 1/10 the original level and power consumption is reduced by about 3.5% when compared with the normal mode.
Furthermore, our proactive and ongoing efforts to comply with AC adapter efficiency regulations in accordance with the laws and regulations of each country contribute to the reduction of standby power consumption.

Reduction of Resource Use for Products

Forests play a very important role in maintaining the environment on a global scale, specifically, by absorbing CO₂ from the atmosphere and contributing to biodiversity.
Panasonic is promoting the switch from conventional paper manuals to electronic manuals for cordless phones. Our efforts to reduce paper consumption contribute to the preservation of forest resources, the raw material for paper. The transition to electronic manuals also enables a reduction in box volume and a higher loading efficiency, thereby contributing to a decrease in CO₂ emissions during transportation. This switchover is being carried out on a product-by-product basis, with the KX-TG16/TG17/TG19 series* in 2023.

Recycling-Oriented Manufacturing

Resource depletion due to economic activities is a global problem. In addition, plastic emissions, which are one of the causes of marine environmental degradation, must be controlled as much as possible. Against this background, the Panasonic Group has set a goal of recycling more than 99% of factory waste and is currently working to achieve it.
Panasonic System Networks Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (PSNM) and Panasonic System Networks Vietnam Co., Ltd. (PSNV), the main plants for landline telephones, are taking various measures to minimize waste, such as recycling defective parts and waste plastic generated during injection molding. They also involve optimizing developed product prototyping in terms of both the number of times and the number of units, and reducing losses by standardizing design of components.
Through these efforts, 41.6 tons of resin was reused in fiscal 2022.

Environmental Activities at Production Plants

PSNM and PSNV implement various environmental initiatives outside of production activities.
There are efforts to reduce CO₂ emissions by turning off lights during breaks and controlling air conditioner temperature settings. Water consumption is also being reduced by switching to water-saving toilets. In addition to these worksite activities, they also participate in environmental activities outside the plant in cooperation with the local community, such as tree planting and cleanups.
Environmental education is provided annually to all employees to promote understanding of the need for such activities.
