24.2MP CMOS Sensor with 96MP High Resolution Mode

This brand new system takes LUMIX deeper into the world of professional photographers and videographers. The Lumix S1 comes with a 24.2-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor (35.6mm x 23.8mm) that provides a wide dynamic range and excellent performance, and supports low-light shooting at up to ISO 51200 (extendable to ISO 204800).

High Resolution Mode allows photographers in the landscape, architecture, product and still life photography fields to capture incredible 96MP files for highly detailed large format prints.

5-axis Dual I.S. 2

It's difficult to handhold a camera at the best of times, but don't fret: with the 5-axis Dual I.S. 2 (Image Stabilizer),* intelligent compensation comes to your aid. This is the equivalent to 7 doublings of exposure duration, meaning you can use a 7-stop slower shutter speed up to tele-end.** The LUMIX S1 eliminates shake in both body and lens even at the telephoto setting. It also works in both photo and video recording, including 4K video. The astonishing power of the 5-axis Body I.S. with 5.5-stop compensation power*** corrects shake for all lenses, even those not equipped with O.I.S.

4K 60p/50p Video Recording

LUMIX S Series full-frame cameras offer an unequalled videography feature set, recording smooth 4K 60p/50p*, and High Speed Video lets you record slow motion video in 4K (maximum 60 fps/50 fps) and FHD (maximum 180 fps /150 fps). The S1 has a full sensor readout, capturing 4K 30p with no recording time limit**. The camera is also compatible with an XLR microphone adaptor to support professional audio quality.

4:2:2 10-bit Internal Recording (Optional)

By activating this product with Upgrade Software Key DMW-SFU2 (sold separately), you can enjoy best-in-class 14+ stops V-Log as well as many other advanced video functions for use in a professional setting.*

In addition, an original camera function (above key not required) gives you a crop factor of 1.0x and full-pixel readout in 4K 30p/25p/24p settings. With full-frame expression, 4K is more powerful than ever.

Advanced AF and AI Technology

Super-fast lens and sensor communication of 480 fps and Panasonic’s DFD (Depth From Defocus) technology allow the LUMIX S1 to achieve an ultra-high-speed, high-precision AF of approximately 0.08 sec*. The S1 also boasts high-speed burst shooting at 9 fps (AFS) or 6 fps (AFC), and excels in low-light shooting, with -6EV* luminance detection performance in Low Light AF, thanks to the higher sensitivity and optimised tuning of the sensor. Advanced AI Technology detects specific subjects, like humans or fast-moving animals, and keeps tracking these subjects even when they are not facing the camera.

5,760k-dot Live View Finder

The class-leading Live View Finder offers the world’s highest resolution* with a 5.7 million dot OLED display that delivers a minimum time lag of less than 0.005 sec and an exceptional 10,000:1 high contrast ratio. The 2.1 million dot monitor has a triaxial tilt design for further shooting versatility, offering superb flexibility in a variety of situations, including high and low angle shooting and portraits.

Dual Memory Card Slots

The LUMIX S1 offers two high-speed memory card slots, one supporting UHS-II SD cards and the other supporting XQD* (upgradeable to CFexpress in the near future), providing multi-format options, extended recording and flexible data backup in the field.

Allocation Record mode allows you to specify the card slot to be used for recording for different image formats. Relay Record mode relays recording to the other card slot after the first card runs out of free space during recording. Backup Recording mode records the same data to the two cards.

Tough, Durable Design

The Lumix S1 is designed to be tough enough to withstand heavy field use, the camera structure is composed of a magnesium alloy full die-cast front/rear frame. Robust construction and a seal for every joint, dial, and button make the LUMIX S1 not only splash resistant and dust resistant but also freeze resistant down to -10 degrees Celsius. The durable shutter unit will withstand around 400,000 releases.
