Low Light AF
AF performance has been improved for shooting low-light, low-contrast scenes in morning mist and evening landscapes. Low Light AF can also shoot down to -4 EV situations with accurate focusing even in moonlight.*

Useful Functions for Nighttime Shooting
Live View Boost: The display is brightened by lowering the frame rate and increasing the gain. This lets you shoot while framing, even in extremely dark situations.
Starlight AF: An original algorithm detects even small amounts of contrast to focus with light sources as subtle as starlight.
MF Assist 20x: The MF Assist display has been enlarged up to 20x. Accurate manual focusing is also possible even on tiny objects like stars.
Low-shock, Low-sound Shutter Unit
The shutter unit uses an electromagnetic drive. This greatly reduces the shock of the shutter diaphragm, to achieve sharp image quality in scenes such as landscapes, where tiny details are essential. It also minimizes the shutter sound, allowing you to choose a mechanical shutter in quiet situations.
AWBw
In Auto White Balance, a new AWBw that retains a reddish tint is available in addition to conventional AWB (standard) and AWBc (bluish tint).
Robust Monochrome Options
L. Monochrome and L. Monochrome D are new monochrome modes in Photo Style that feature even finer gradations. Along with Monochrome, it gives you the dynamic control to help take black-and-white expressiveness to the next level.
In addition, each of these modes can be combined with Grain Effect at Low, Standard, or High level. When you have the appeal of monochrome film at your fingertips with rich black tones and grainy textures, even ordinary scenes can become something remarkable.
Intuitive Body Design
The body is designed to enable operation while viewing through the viewfinder, with a grip that is stable even when shooting with one hand. Frequently used functions such as white balance, ISO, and exposure compensation are isolated using buttons and dials. These are also positioned within reach of the index finger and thumb for intuitive operation. Excellent mobility expands your range of shooting.
Tough Body for a Wide Range of Weather Conditions
The tough body is ready to take on a variety of challenging shooting environments. The magnesium alloy front frame is highly durable, while sealing helps protect every seam, dial, and button. The camera as a whole is dust- and splash-resistant.* Together, these features help make shooting both productive and enjoyable in a wide range of weather conditions.

USB Power Supply / USB Power Charging
A USB connection cable can be used to charge the battery from a portable battery charger or personal computer. You can also supply power to the camera while shooting, which is convenient when shooting videos or shooting for long periods of time in a studio.

By using two batteries — one in the camera and the other in the grip, the DMW-BGG1 — the battery life is doubled for extended shooting. Post Focus / Focus Stacking
Panasonic's 4K technology gives you the remarkable capability of refocusing an image even after it has been taken. Select the in-focus area after shooting with the Post Focus function. Or adjust the depth of field after shooting with the Focus Stacking function.
