How to choose the ideal energy-efficient air conditioner for your living space

Selecting the right cooling capacity for your rooms

For maximum energy efficiency, it is important to determine the right cooling capacity on your air conditioner. Firstly, have a good idea of the room size (volume) and layout (e.g; wide, two connecting rooms, high ceiling). An air conditioner that is too powerful will blast out cool air then shut off quickly once the desired set temperature is reached, only to repeat the process again, shortly. This repetitive process consumes a lot of energy. On the other hand, If an air conditioner is of insufficient capacity, it requires extra exertion to cool down your space, which guzzles up a lot of energy.

Inverter air conditioners are significantly more energy-efficient than non-inverter units.

The motor of the inverter compressor is able to vary its speed to adjust to the set temperature. Meanwhile a non-inverter's motor can only be turned on or off, unable to adjust its speed according to the workload. This consumes a lot more energy.
