Panasonic Celebrates 10 Years
Since the Launch of the Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera

The year 2018 marks 10 years since Panasonic introduced the world's first Digital Single Lens Mirrorless Camera, the LUMIX DMC-G1, in 2008*¹. As a pioneer of the mirrorless camera, we are the only manufacturer to have devoted 10 years to the development of this innovativecamera system.

We have lead the market by pursuing unique technologies for high picture quality, high performance, high-speed response and video recording capability -all for the mirrorless camera.
Epockmaking achievements included the development of a mirroless camera that enabled the world's first 4K video recording*², Dual I.S. (Image Stabilizer) and 6K PHOTO*³ for high-speed burst shooting at 30 fps in 18-megapixel resolution.
Crystallizing the core competence in our mirrorless camera technologies, we have recently expanded our lineup of cutting-edge digital cameras by adding to our world-acclaimed flagship model, the LUMIX GH5, with the LUMIX G9, which boasts uncompromising performance for still photography; and the LUMIX GH5S, which brings the highest-ever sensitivity and video quality to the LUMIX range. We will keep our focus on developing high-end digital cameras that meet the stringent standards of professional photographers and video creators.

Guided by the vision of "Changing Photography", LUMIX will continue its development challenge over the next 10 years to establish our position as an industry innovator and introduce a steady stream of exciting new technologies.
