The HC-X1000 is the world's first* camcorder capable of recording 4K 60p/50p images onto an SD card. It features a LEICA Dicomar Lens, a new BSI Sensor, and the Crystal Engine Pro 4K, all in a compact, go-anywhere body.
The HC-X1000 is a full-fledged 4K camcorder supporting various recording formats, such as 4K / Cinema 4K / Full HD and frame rates including 60p / 50p / 24p with a host of professional functions. Its 4K resolution produces stunning, life-like images, and compact body adds agile mobility, making it ideal for professionals shooting documentaries and events.
4K 60p/50p Video Recording
Incredible 4K image quality is achieved at 60p / 50p video recording with twice the information as 30p / 25p, giving you smoother motion.
Versatile Recording
Formats and Bit Rates
Versatile recording formats and bit rates prepare the HC-X1000 for a wide range of applications. The AVCHD recording format is joined by MOV and MP4 for quick and easy editing. Full HD recording employs ALL-Intra compression for a maximum bit rate of 200 Mbps, providing outstanding quality to image production.
Quality Core Technologies
Leica Dicomar Lens
In addition to rendering crisp images, this remarkable lens produces subtle nuances and shading that Leica lenses are renowned for.
1/2.3" BSI Sensor
Increasing the readout speed of this sensor has made it possible to handle large-volume 4K data at a fast 60 fps / 50 fps.
Crystal Engine Pro 4K
This high-speed LSI processes the massive volume of 4K data quickly and accurately while reducing noise.
High Performance / Compact Body
In spite of its many professional functions, such as the Triple Manual Ring, ND Filter and Dual SD Card Slots, this compact design -- because of its 4-Drive Lens System -- enables stable, handheld shooting, ideal for field work where mobility is a must.
4K Video Recording
With four times the resolution of Full HD, the HC-X1000 records in 4K (3840 x 2160) and Cinema 4K (4096 x 2160) formats, delivering true-to-life images in extremely high detail, for a wide variety of shooting situations.
More Detail than Full HD
4K content delivers a far more intense viewing experience than seen before. With a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, which is 4x more than Full HD, the results are a higher level of detail. Even if you export your footage filmed in 4K to Full HD, the video files will have even better definition and crisper details than those filmed in Full HD.
4K Video Editing
Sometimes after filming a great scene we later wish we would have framed our shots a little differently. 4K allows you to crop your composition and choose the perfect frame. You can zoom up to 200% while maintaining HD picture quality, turn stationary footage into a panning shot, tilt and level your footage and easily stabilize your video. Cropping, zooming, panning, tilting, stabilizing - new options in editing 4K footage.
Full HD Video Recording
Full HD video recording is processed by a 4K, 8 Mpx sensor. Compared to 2 Mpx sensors used on ordinary Full HD camcorders, this renders high-quality images down to the finest details, with minimal blurring.
4-Drive Lens System with 20x Zoom
By fitting the 20x optical zoom in such a compact body, the four lens group drive achieves high picture quality. This clearly shows in professional applications, such as sports scenes, captured in 4K detail with the 20x optical zoom.
Blur-Free Images Anytime
POWER O.I.S. for 4K
The gyro sensors detect hand-shake at a rate of up to 4,000 times / sec, enabling the lens to compensate, correcting for slow hand-shake. Subjects stay sharp even with 20x zoom shots and 4K resolution.
5-Axis HYBRID O.I.S. + (Full HD only)
HYBRID O.I.S.+ uses 5-axis correction to thoroughly suppress blurring on wide angle to powerful zoom shots, even when zooming, where hand-shake often occurs. This lets you capture crisp, clear images, without blurring in almost every shooting situation.
High-Speed, High-Precision AF
High quality 4K recording is achieved by maintaining the AF drive frequency at 60 Hz / 50 Hz to improve focus speed, stability and tracking performance.
Dual SD Card Slots
Background Recording (Full HD only)
One SD card can be set in Slot 2 to record continuously, and another SD card can be set in Slot 1 to record necessary scenes by turning REC on and off. This prevents important scenes from being missed when REC is turned off.
Simultaneous Recording
Two SD card slots allows you to record data at the same time onto both SD cards, so you don’t have to worry about losing data.
Auto-Switch Recording*
When the first card reaches full capacity, the system automatically and seamlessly switches to the second card.
* Audio is interrupted for approximately one second during device switching.
ND Filter
ND filters are built into the lens to suppress the amount of incident light and are selectable (1/4, 1/16, 1/64, or OFF), to match the shooting environment. This is convenient, for example, when you want to shoot at a slow shutter speed in bright daylight. Also, when opening the aperture, you can attain high resolution and a shallow depth of field.
Night Mode (0 Lux)
Infrared rays and IR LED lighting lets you shoot in the dark (0 lux), which is ideal when observing animals at night.
Focus Peaking / Focus Expand
Focus Peaking is displayed in a selectable colour for easy manual focusing, and Focus
Expand increases magnification up to 10x with the multi-function dial.
Area Mode Function
With the AF/AE operation at a selected position, you can choose the focus area by touching any part of the screen.
Professional Functions
Histogram Display
Displays a graph with brightness indicated on the horizontal axis and the number of pixels expressing that brightness level on the vertical axis. More precise exposure adjustment can be made by viewing the histogram.
Zebra Pattern
A striped pattern appears over excessively bright areas in the viewfinder and LCD, warning you to adjust lighting or exposure.
Colour Bar Monitor
The built-in colour bar monitor
enables you to control the colour
accuracy. For editing reference, the
bar can be included in the recording.
Picture Adjustment
For natural colouring and delicate nuances, use picture adjustment to change contrast, chroma level, exposure, sharpness, etc.
Triple Manual Rings
In spite of the HC-X1000's compact body, the integrated focus, zoom and iris rings on the lens barrel meet professional needs, enabling speedy and intuitive camera work.
Illuminated LED Ring
The user controlled illuminated LED ring allows you to easily verify that recording is in progress.
XLR Audio Input Terminals (2-Channel)
The HC-X1000 has XLR Audio Input terminals (2-Channel) for an external MIC or line recording. With the +48 V power supply, you can use professional-spec, high-performance microphones for high quality sound.
High-Speed HDMI Cable Included
Display high-resolution 4K 60p / 50p videos on a 4K VIERA TV by simply connecting the
high-speed HDMI cable (included).
* With HDMI connection to a Full HD TV, the HC-X1000 can supply down-converted signals.
Optional Accessories
To offer more flexibility, the the HC-X1000 complies with
XLR Microphone (AG-MC200G), High Capacity Battery
Pack (VW-VBD58), LED Video Light (VW-LED1) and
more. The expansive flexibility of HC-X1000 goes far
beyond the limits of a camcorder.
Wi-Fi Functions with NFC
The HC-X1000 integrates Wi-Fi® connectivity with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. With the "Panasonic Image App", remote shooting is available with a compatible smartphone / tablet. For a smartphone / tablet without NFC, the camera displays a dedicated QR code on its monitor to complete pairing easily by reading / scanning the code.
