Systems that provide information and entertainment for your car through IT technology and A/V systems are known as “infotainment systems.” They make use of data in many ways, like supporting the driver, improving safety, and providing information useful for your drive. Functions like these are starting to become must-haves for cars.
For example, when you use the Drive P@ss smartphone app to operate your smartphone through your car’s navigation system, you can enjoy all the music and video from your phone, as well as data from radio, video, and news sites via your phone’s internet connection. All this, while inside your car, with your navigation system as a monitor.
In addition, by using the voice-recognition function with your smartphone, you can run searches and use the results to easily set a destination in your navigation system, just by talking.

Panasonic utilizes the HMI (human machine interface) technology that it researches for car equipment, in its research and development of the next generation of driver support technology. This technology allows it to fulfill strict safety standards in visibility, operability, and ergonomics.
For example, the HUD (heads-up display) concentrates information necessary for driving on the windshield, so that the driver never has to shift attention away from the road. Optical technology is utilized to display information at the appropriate size, color, and contrast.
Electronic mirror systems make use of high-resolution rear-view cameras to provide reliable support when backing up, even in rainy or twilight conditions.
The increased size of the monitor allows for a fun-to-watch, comfortable-to-use control panel, bringing visibility and fun to the driving safety information display, which could otherwise feel inorganic.

As the number of busy working women has increased, so has the amount of time that they spend in the car commuting. The Onboard Nanoe Generator was born of the desire to use this time as personal time. Panasonic has brought Nanoe technology, familiar from Panasonic Beauty, to the car, and added an aromatherapy function to make your ride feel like a trip to the salon. Nanoe is effective at eliminating bacteria*1 and odors*2, leading to a clean and fresh car interior. On top of that, people are saying that they love the refreshing feeling of aromatherapy while they drive.
