For two decades, LUMIX users have appreciated the fact that systems developed in partnership such as the Micro Four Thirds System speed up the technical development of a system for the benefit of users and result in a wide range of products for every purpose and pocket. Panasonic has plans to work with other high-tech players in the future too.

In 2018, the company entered into another partnership with great potential: together with Leica Camera AG and Sigma, the L-Mount Alliance was launched. The aim is to work together to develop and produce mirrorless camera systems. The L-Bayonet developed by Leica Camera AG is at the heart of the project.

It allows numerous lenses and cameras from the three partners to be combined and thus signals the start of a new era of creative freedom. Panasonic has entered into a new alliance with two exciting mirrorless system cameras featuring full-frame sensors which will set a number of world records.

The DC-S1 is the first full-frame Digital Single Lens Mirrorless (DSLM) camera on the market with a 4K 60p/50p video function. The DC-S1R too sets new standards with an extremely high-resolution 47.3-megapixel sensor.

The first two models in the LUMIX S series set new records in other areas as well. With an incredible approximately 5.76 million dots resolution, the OLED  View Finder on the DC-S1 and DC-S1R have a higher resolution that any other electronic viewfinder.
