The Full Digital Amplifier System processes music data directly in digital form, without analogue conversion, right up to the point where it is sent to the speakers. This dramatically reduces noise in the audio signal. The main unit has been downsized and the depth has been slimmed, by streamlining the power supply and making the circuitry more compact. To maximise the advantages of the Full Digital Amplifier System, a wide variety of advanced audio reproduction technologies have been incorporated in the SC-PMX5. The Anti-Jitter Digital Amplifier minimises the jitter that can occur during digital signal processing, to produce sound that is more faithful to the source. The Digital Music Connection uploads data from an iPod/iPhone to the SC-PMX5 without D/A conversion, to prevent acoustic degradation during data transmission.
In addition to the digital amplifier, extra care has also been taken in the 3-way speaker system with its super tweeter, soft dome tweeter, and woofer. Audio signals, from bass to treble, are divided into frequency ranges by the speakers to produce music with rich, clear, distortion-free sound. Rigidity has been increased in the diaphragm of the Soft Dome Tweeter to enhance the quality of the treble range. And Screw Type Speaker Terminals are employed to further raise sound quality by providing a better cable connection and greater stability in the signal transmission.
