Manila, Philippines — March of 2018, the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines recently celebrated the Japan-Philippines Friendship. And to commemorate this special event, Japan Embassy organized a cross-cultural event where Filipinos can showcase their talents in singing as they performed at the 9^th J-POP Anime Singing Contest. The grand finals was held at SM Cinema Centerstage, SM Mall of Asia last March 03, 2018.

The event aims to further strengthen the longstanding friendship between Japan and Philippines and to promote the Japanese language and the cultural exchange among Filipinos.

And as a support for this lasting friendship, Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corporation (PMPC) collaborated with the Japan Embassy in making this event successful. The contest featured 15 grand finalists as they perform their own rendition of a chosen Japanese song, be it solo or duet. Placing in first is the returning contender from the previous J-POP contest is Johannie Velasco, who was able to bagged an all-expense paid trip to Japan, Panasonic Television, Panasonic Beauty facial steamer and pore cleanser as well as other prizes from the event’s sponsors. Coming in second was Ana Marie Alforte and third is Jena Mostajo who both received Panasonic TV and a Panasonic Juicer for the second placer among other prizes from sponsored brands.

Panasonic also had booths displayed outside the venue showcasing our astonishing television display, the 4k Ultra PRO HDR, 4K Ultra HDR and Full HD TV as well as our urban audio products. Participants even experience a gorgeous hair make-over using our stunning Panasonic Beauty products that they can play and slay.
