177MP ultra-high-resolution photos

Handheld High Resolution Shooting
Unlock ultra-high-resolution photography with the LUMIX S1RII’s advanced Handheld High-Resolution Mode. By utilising the in-body image stabilisation (B.I.S.) system, the camera shifts the image sensor while continuously shooting, automatically combining eight shots into a breathtaking 177MP image. Supporting both RAW and JPEG formats, as well as in-camera RAW processing, it delivers unmatched detail with LUMIX’s signature rendering. Best of all, this mode works handheld—giving you the freedom to capture stunning high-resolution images even when using a tripod isn’t an option.

Now supports HEIF format recording*

In addition to the conventional JPEG and RAW formats, this camera now supports HEIF recording in 4:2:0 10-bit.* Delivering rich 10-bit tonal gradation, the HEIF format offers higher compression efficiency than JPEG while supporting HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) photos. When viewed on an HDR display, images display natural brightness and colour gradation, allowing you to enjoy results that more closely match human visual perception.

Fastest high-speed burst shooting in the LUMIX S Series*

AFC 40 fps burst shooting
With cutting-edge sensor technology, a high-durability DC motor, and optimised mechanical shutter control, the S1RII delivers both exceptional resolution and lightning-fast burst shooting. The mechanical shutter captures approximately 10 fps, while the electronic shutter reaches an incredible 40 fps, making it perfect for fast-moving subjects like sports and wildlife.
For even greater control, H+ (High Speed Plus) mode prioritises burst speed when using AFC, ensuring you never miss the action. Plus, with SH mode display post view, you can check framing in real time without blackout—keeping you focused on the shot.

Go back in time

Pre-burst shooting
The most reliable way to seize a photo opportunity is to turn back time and capture the perfect shot. The LUMIX S1RII’s pre-burst shooting function offers options for 0.5, 1.0, or 1.5-second pre-burst settings. This feature enables you to capture hard-to-predict moments, from the instant a water bird hits the surface of the water to the agile movements of an athlete.
