Soft Milk Rolls with Baked Camembert
Difficulty:Easy

Ingredients

Servings:1

To Make the Starter:

  • 25 gbread flour
  • 125 mlwater

To Make the Dough:

  • 125 mlwhole milk
  • 1beaten egg
  • 1starter
  • 60 gsoftened butter
  • 250 gbread flour
  • 1 tbspsugar
  • 1 tspyeast
  • 1 tspsalt

Other:

  • 1wheel of Camembert cheese
  • melted butter
  • sesame seeds
  • finely chopped fresh rosemary
  • olive oil

Steps

STEP 1

To make the starter: Mix 25g bread flour with 125ml water in a saucepan over medium heat until the roux thickens. When the whisk leaves a trail of lines on the surface, it is ready. Put in a small bowl and wrap cling film over the surface of the roux to prevent a crust forming. Leave to cool.

STEP 2

Add whole milk, lightly beaten egg, the starter, softened butter, bread flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in your Panasonic bread maker and select the Pizza Dough programme (45 min).

STEP 3

Remove dough from pan using a plastic spatula. The dough will be a little sticky so flour your hands and the worktop. Shape into 16 small rolls.

STEP 4

Brush some of the rolls with melted butter and dip into sesame seeds and finely chopped fresh rosemary.

STEP 5

Place a wheel of Camembert cheese in the centre of a baking sheet lined with greaseproof paper.

STEP 6

Position the bread rolls around the cheese, brush them with melted butter, and leave to rise for half an hour.

STEP 7

Slash the top of the cheese and drizzle with a little olive oil and chopped rosemary.

STEP 8

Bake at 180°C in combination microwave oven for 25 minutes and serve warm.
