Support for shooting in harsh field conditions
Dust*/splash*/freeze** resistant design
Designed to support your passion for creativity even in challenging environments. The magnesium alloy frame, combined with sealing on all joints, dials, and buttons, ensures dust- and splash-resistance*. The terminal caps and contact covers are independently separated, allowing you to open only the necessary sections when connecting external devices. Additionally, the camera is designed to operate in temperatures as low as -10°C** and has been tested to function in high temperatures up to 40°C. Despite being equipped with a cooling fan, it still maintains a high level of robustness.

*When a Panasonic dust- and splash-resistant lens is attached.
・Dust- and splash-resistant does not guarantee that damage will not occur if this camera is subjected to direct contact with dust and water.
・To ensure that the dust-, splash-, and freeze-resistant functions are sufficiently effective, attach a hot shoe cover to the camera. Also, make sure to close the door, terminal cap, and contact cover of the camera properly.
**When a Panasonic lens that supports an operating temperature of up to -10°C is attached.
Approx. 400,000 shutter count
Enhanced shutter unit
By optimising the shutter unit structure and incorporating a high-voltage-resistant, high-durability DC motor, this system achieves exceptional rigidity and precision, successfully passing a durability test of 400,000 shutter releases.* It also maintains stable and accurate performance during high speed burst shooting, meeting the demands of professional use even in the most rigorous conditions.
*Panasonic measurement standard.

Prevents dust from attaching to the sensor
Shutter closing function
The camera now allows you to select the shutter's behavior when powering off. By setting it to "Close," you can protect the sensor from dust, providing peace of mind even during frequent lens changes.

Can record according to your purpose
Dual card slots
Slot 1 supports CFexpress Type B cards, enabling smooth recording of high-speed burst still shooting as well as internal recording of high-bitrate videos exceeding 800Mbps and ProRes RAW HQ footage. Slot 2 is compatible with SD Memory Card. Additionally, the card door is equipped with a locking lever to prevent accidental opening during shooting, ensuring reliable performance in the field.

Ideal for recording and managing high bitrate videos
External SSD recording
Large video files can be recorded directly from the camera to an external SSD. After recording, simply connect the SSD to a computer via a USB cable to transfer data, improving efficiency for both backup and post-production. Furthermore, the LUMIX S1II supports direct transfers from the external SSD to a CFexpress Type B or SD memory card, giving you more workflow options and greater flexibility.

・Use an external SSD no more than 2 TB in size that is compatible with USB Type-C. We recommend using an external SSD whose operation has been confirmed by Panasonic. Note beforehand that this is not a guarantee of operation on all devices.
・Latest information on the external SSDs will be available at the following support site: https://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/connect/index.html
・When recording to an external SSD, you cannot record simultaneously to an SD Memory Card or CFexpress Type B cards. However, it is possible to record the main video to the SSD and the proxy video file to the SD Memory Card simultaneously.
