Roast Christmas Turkey
Roast turkey is a real Christmas crowd-pleaser! Here we show you how to quickly roast a whole bird in your Convection Microwave.
Ingredients
- 2.5 kgturkey
- 60 gbutter
- 1 stickcelery (finely sliced)
- 1small onion (finely chopped)
- 2small cooking apples (peeled and grated)
- 2 cupsfresh breadcrumbs
- 2 tbspbrandy
- 1 tbspparsley (finely chopped)
- 1egg
- Salt and Pepper (to taste)
- 2 tbspbrandy (extra)
- 1 tbspoil
- lemon pepper or seasoned salt (to taste)
Steps
STEP 1
Clean and pat dry turkey with paper towel.
STEP 2
Melt butter in a 1-litre casserole dish on 1000 W for 30 to 40 seconds.
STEP 3
Add celery, onion and apples and cook on 1000 W for 5 minutes.
STEP 4
Add brandy, breadcrumbs, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper.
STEP 5
Mix well and stuff mixture into cleaned turkey.
STEP 6
Pierce skin of turkey with a fork.
STEP 7
Secure legs of turkey with string.
STEP 8
Brush with oil.
STEP 9
Sprinkle with extra brandy, and lemon pepper or seasoned salt.
STEP 10
Place turkey on glass shelf in middle shelf position.
STEP 11
Cook on 600 W for 50 to 55 minutes turning over halfway.
STEP 12
Cook on Convection 180°C for 20 minutes.
STEP 13
Stand 15 minutes before serving with cranberry sauce.
