9 Top Tips for getting the most from your Panasonic Combi Microwave

Ever wondered what all the technology that goes in to your kitchen appliances really means to you as the end user? The Panasonic Combination Microwave range has a ton of benefits to take advantage of that a lot of us don’t even know about! For a quick cheat sheet to some of the best bits, keep on reading…

9 Top Tips for getting the most from your Panasonic Combi Microwave

1. Auto Sensor Programs (relates to the CD8, CT8, ST48, and DF3)

The Panasonic Microwave makes life so much easier in the kitchen with these settings! The Auto Sensor works out the cooking time for you, so all you need to do is choose the auto program and press start! Want to know our secret? The microwave calculates the cooking time from the steam released from the food!

2. Auto Weight Programs

For dishes that do not have an inbuilt Auto-Sensor program, the Panasonic Combi can still work out the cooking time if the user enters the weight of the food.

3. Catalytic Roof

This self-cleaning lining used in conjunction with the radiant grill was designed to make cleaning your microwave an easy task and not a tiring chore. Ultimately, this means more cooking and less scrubbing!

4. Chaos Defrost

This setting uses random pulses of microwave energy to rise the temperature within the oven more evenly, allowing heat to travel to the centre of the food in a more constant way. This allows a simple push of a button (entering the weight of your food) so that the microwave can then calculate the accurate defrost time.

The Chaos Defrost reduces time and allows food to defrost more evenly, so there’s no more part cooked or part frozen foods. This is best for bread, meat items and joints!

5. Condensation/Steam Escaping

The doors of our microwaves are not an airtight seal and it’s quite normal to have warm air or steam escaping from the door and condensation inside the oven. The heat given off from the food warms the air in the oven cavity and this warmed air is carried out of the oven by the air flow pattern – so not to worry if you experience this steam.

6. Covering

When using the microwave, moisture will evaporate during cooking and the best way to control how much heat escapes from your food is to cover whilst microwaving.

7. Lids

When reheating food in containers you should always remove the lids before you microwave them. If you don’t then steam and pressure might build up inside and cause your food to explode, even after the microwave cooking has stopped.

8. Liquids

All liquids must be stirred before, during, and after heating. Liquids and other foods must not be heated in sealed containers since they are liable to explode. When heating, one should be careful not to over-boil, as this can occur without evidence of bubbling.

9. Memory

Do you have a particular dish that is an absolute family favourite? We get it. That’s why the we offer a pre-program function that enables you to save a specific power and time for those quick reheats!
