Panasonic IPL: Stress-Free Hair Removal For Smoother Skin.
Introducing the Latest Innovation in Hair Removal
For generations Panasonic has been at the forefront of developing innovative technology that aspires to improve our everyday lives through greater convenience. The new Panasonic IPL hair removal system harnesses the latest technology in hair removal to provide stress-free treatment that results in longer-lasting smoother skin.
What exactly is IPL?
Intense pulsed light is a cosmetic technique that uses intensive light to reduce the growth of unwanted body hair without damaging the surrounding skin. The light is applied to the surface of the skin and is converted into heat that travels to the root of the hair follicles. This heat inhibits hair growth, resulting in a significant reduction in unwanted body hair over time.
A Beauty Salon at Home
Until recently, IPL treatment has primarily been available as a cosmetic procedure in beauty salons. Thanks to the Panasonic IPL, salon-quality treatment is now available from the comfort and convenience of your own home. Furthermore, the IPL is simple and straightforward to use. It’s lightweight and cordless with an easy to grip ergonomic design, meaning that it’s perfect for those hard to reach areas such as the underarm and bikini line.
We Have You Covered
The IPL head consists of a 5.4 cm2 flash window from which the intense pulsed light is emitted. Thanks to the wide window, a larger area of skin is covered with every flash, resulting in quick treatments. For example, both underarm areas can be treated in approximately 90 seconds and both legs (below the knees) require only 10 minutes.
Quick as a Flash
By applying the IPL head onto the skin, the flash is activated and the treatment for that area of skin is complete. As there is only a short interval of three seconds between each flash, treatments are quick, efficient and effective. Both arms can be treated in only 5 minutes and the bikini area in just 90 seconds.
Stress-Free Hair Removal
Whilst epilation can prove to be uncomfortable for some, the IPL is stress-free and less painful. While epilators pluck the hair at the root, potentially causing mild discomfort in sensitive areas of the body, the IPL flash simply heats the hair follicle, inhibiting the growth cycle. This means that over time, results become longer-lasting; it is recommended that arms and legs are treated once every two weeks and the underarm and bikini areas only once a week.
Gentle on Skin, Tough on Hair
The IPL has five intensity settings, so by adjusting the intensity according to your skin tone and hair colour, gentle and effective treatment is assured. For areas where unwanted hair is thicker, a higher intensity may be necessary for a more effective treatment. Should users with otherwise sensitive skin notice any irritation after treatment, a lower intensity setting is recommended.
Longer-Lasting in Every Way
Smoother results aren’t the only thing that is longer lasting about the IPL. The device is fitted with a long-life Li-ion battery that provides 600 flashes when fully charged. With a full body treatment requiring approximately 500 flashes*, a fully charged IPL can act as an ideal travel companion on beach holidays and city breaks.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between laser treatment and IP
Laser treatment uses light at one very specific frequency in order to destroy the hair follicle, thus resulting in permanent hair removal. IPL uses light along a wider range of frequencies that do not permanently damage the follicle, but inhibits the growth cycle of hair instead.
What is the difference between professional and at-home IPL treatments?
Professional salons use a more intense form of light that offers a more permanent form of hair removal. However, the Panasonic IPL offers longer-lasting results in comparison to other at-home hair removal treatments such as shaving or waxing.
Does IPL treatment hurt?
In preliminary trials, no women rated the experience of using the Panasonic IPL as painful. There may be a warm tingling or itching sensation on the area of skin immediately after the IPL flash, but this soon disappears.
How often should I use the IPL?
For the first two months, it is recommended that arms and legs are treated once every two weeks and the underarm and bikini areas only once a week. In subsequent months, arms and legs need only be treated once every four week and the bikini area once every two weeks. Prior to the initial use of the IPL, it is recommended you shave the area you wish to treat beforehand.
Is IPL treatment suitable for all hair and skin types?
IPL treatment is better suited to certain hair colours and skin tones than others; it is ineffective on red, light blonde or grey hair. Additionally, the treatment is unsuitable for darker skin tones as it may cause mild skin damage.
