The Next Generation OLED Televisions
Approved by the professionals as 'Master'
Heading up our television line-up are a set of 4K HDR TVs that combine the peerless contrast performance of OLED screen technology with our ultra-powerful Studio Colour HCX Processor to deliver pictures that represent the filmmaker’s vision more accurately than any of our TVs before.
Our OLED TVs even boast picture tuning by renowned Hollywood professionals, with the flagship models carrying additional colour features so advanced that it’s being used by filmmakers as a ‘master monitor’ when creating content for home viewing. So for the first time you can actually watch film and television content on the screen used to create it – and you can’t get more accurate than that!
To underline this point, our OLED TVs enjoy THX certification, meaning they’ve passed that independent organisation’s tough performance quality tests.
What is OLED?
OLED is an organic 'light emitting diode' (much like a light bulb) which emits light in response to an electric current. Whilst the pixels in an ordinary LCD TV may be illuminated by an LED backlight, each pixel in an OLED TV is its own source of illumination. This ability to turn on & off individual pixels completely gives OLED TVs the upper hand in achieving superior black level and contrast ratio, compared to LCD TVs.
Historically, many videophiles and cinema fanatics considered Plasma TVs to be the ultimate in experiencing more life-like and realistic picture quality. Just as the phosphors in Plasma screen are used to create light, the OLED technology works in a similar way giving a wider viewing angle, improved brightness across the screen and an overall improved picture quality - allowing you to enjoy the ultimate cinema experience at home.
Studio Colour HCX
Decades of TV picture quality experience combined with unprecedented amounts of Hollywood collaboration resulted in the Panasonic HCX (Hollywood Cinema Experience) video processor.
This incredibly powerful system works on colour, black level and brightness to deliver pictures that get as close as possible to the way they looked in the mastering suite. An 8000 registry point 3D look-up table system, for instance, with enhanced reproduction of white improves tonal accuracy in both light and dark areas.
THX® Certified Display
THX* was founded by legendary filmmaker George Lucas with the goal of improving the entertainment experience in the cinema and in the home. Only televisions that pass 400 independent THX lab tests within 30 testing categories receive the mark of THX 4K Display certification. Their rigorous performance standards and uncompromised picture quality ensure that you experience the filmmaker's vision exactly as it was intended.
