A fuss-free phone made for today and tomorrow
The new KX-TF400 is the latest addition to Panasonic’s family of 4G feature phones. These mobiles are aimed at people who just want to make and receive calls or texts – without the bother of apps or constant upgrades. This also results in small phones with big battery capacity.
Many people may already own a basic phone, but as the 2G network is being switched off across Europe, they’ll need a 4G model to stay in touch. Luckily, Panasonic’s TF400 is a very pocketable and familiar ‘chocolate bar’ shape – so will be an easy upgrade. And one that will keep them talking well into the future.
However, TF400 isn’t a retro phone – it comes with modern-day essentials including Bluetooth, LED torch, alarm, hands-free calling and fast USB-C charging. Plus, because it’s a 4G phone, owners benefit from higher call quality thanks to VoLTE tech when using 4G and 5G networks.
It also fits perfectly with the zeitgeist of those wishing to step-back from ‘digital distraction’. This includes people who need to ‘get away from it all’ on holiday, or parents seeking to give their children some independence without worrying about social pressure from apps. Plus, a significant set of people just want a dependable phone to make or receive calls.
Long battery life
Remember when phone batteries seemed to last forever? Panasonic’s TF400 will take owners back there with an incredible 5-hour talk-time, or 200 hours on standby (that’s over 8 days). When the phone does eventually need a battery top-up, there’s a USB-C charging cable supplied in the box.
Concentrated pocket rocket
A fraction of the size and weight of a smartphone, TF400 is genuinely pocket-sized. Yet, it’s big enough where it counts: there’s a clear 2.4” (6cm) colour screen with large legible characters. The tactile buttons on the keypad feature clear numbers and familiar icons. The central menu key means that accessing messaging, camera and torch are a breeze.
Panasonic’s TF400 has a nicely curved profile – so that it fits comfortably in the hand and slides easily into the pocket.
The new TF400 is also dust and water resistant to IP44 – so there’s no need to worry about taking calls in workshops, on-site or maybe when hanging out with friends at the waterside. For many, it could become a convenient back-up mobile phone.
Today’s everyday essentials
The Panasonic TF400 features a built-in camera that’s easy to use. Owners will soon be snapping pictures to use as reminders for themselves, or to share in text messages1 with friends and family.
Thanks to BluetoothTM, owners can connect wireless earphones to TF400 to help them listen and talk. Or they can plug in the supplied wired pair via the headphone jack (which is protected by a cover when not in use).
We never know when we’re going to need a torch – maybe to find our door lock at night or something we’ve just dropped. TF400’s built-in torch is quickly accessed via the central control button.
People often need to take notes during an important call or have come to expect to be on-hold for ages when calling certain organisations. That’s where TF400’s table-top Speaker Phone function comes in handy.
Availability and call to action
Panasonic’s new TF400 mobile feature phone will be available in July 2025 from leading retailers, Amazon, or directly from Panasonic – with an indicative retail price of €49.90 (approx. £50).
