Dow Jones Sustainability Indices

Panasonic Corporation was named to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI World) and the FTSE4Good Index Series, both world-renowned socially responsible investment (SRI) indexes. This is the twelfth consecutive year, starting in 2005, that the company was named to DJSI World and the sixteenth, starting in 2001, that it was similarly listed in the FTSE4Good Index Series.

DJSI World is a stock index created by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC in the US and RobecoSAM AG in Switzerland that evaluates the sustainability of companies in terms of the economy, environment, and society.

Each year, around 2,500 of the world's largest companies are evaluated, and only the top 10 percent of these companies are named to DJSI World. This year, there were 316 companies named to the index. Panasonic has been lauded for its operational eco-efficiency, climate strategy, and other environmental initiatives in the Leisure Equipment & Products and Consumer Electronics Industry category.

FTSE4Good Index Series

FTSE4Good Index Series

The FTSE4Good Index Series was instituted by the London-based FTSE Group and covers companies that meet international standards concerning the environment, human rights, supply chain labour standards, countering bribery, and other criteria. These companies are selected from a survey of around 2,000 of the world's top publicly traded firms. Panasonic has, in particular, been recognized for its environmental initiatives overall, including those relating to its climate change, and other initiatives including policy and risk assessments relating to respecting human rights and anti-corruption.
