About Kevin

Kevin Smith brings extensive experience in international marketing, business development and operations leadership to his role as General Manager of Life & Device Solutions Division and Visual Solutions at Panasonic Canada Inc.

As a member of the Executive Committee Kevin has contributed to the overall expansion and product evolution of Panasonic Canada. Under his entrepreneurial leadership, the Life & Device Solutions Division has become Panasonic Canada’s business growth engine. Drawing on Panasonic’s 50-year history as a home builder and developer, one of Kevin’s key focus points is supporting and driving organizational change within the Panasonic structure. He has successfully brought together product groups and teams to address the housing vertical, delivering a full suite solution for North American clients while simultaneously helping the building community benefit from the full range of Panasonic’s offerings.

Kevin’s career has led him to understand the mindset of the North American consumer and an ability to find the right brand positioning to help shepherd them to market in diverse channels. With an extensive portfolio consisting of brand and product launches, Kevin has successfully introduced a multinational electronics company to the Canadian market, launched a South Korean electronics manufacturer in Canada, and worked in senior leader positions in sales and operations focused on multimedia and data networking hardware products for a multinational technology company.

At Panasonic Canada, Kevin has assumed progressively challenging roles, driving growth and effecting transformational change within the organization which has shifted the culture towards more collaboration across business units. He has also supported the development of new channels for Panasonic enterprise products and led the Canadian launch of Panasonic Canada’s Homes & Living business. Kevin’s unique experiences have led him to steer the sales team for Ventilation and HVAC in addition to the Housing portfolio, co-lead the Homes & Building Solutions Division, and new Life & Device Solutions Division (LDS) where he is now the General Manager of LDS and the Visual Solutions Department.

Outside of the office, Kevin enjoys golfing, jazz, and spending time with his wife and their English Cocker Spaniels.
