About Michael
Michael Moskowitz brings more than 20 years of experience providing senior leadership in the consumer electronics, communications, and technology industries.
In his role as President at Panasonic Canada Inc., Michael is responsible for leading the go-to-market strategy and overall financial performance of Panasonic Canada’s business, which encompasses consumer, business and industrial divisions. Michael also serves concurrently as President of Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company, which is based in Newark, NJ.
Attracted to Panasonic because of the diversity of business, corporate culture, and strength of the brand, Michael first joined in 2011 and quickly earned a reputation for his forward thinking and strategic approach to identifying niche markets and opportunities for growth. Becoming President in 2013, Michael is continuing to drive positive transformation while embracing the long-standing principles guiding the success of the organization.
Michael’s strongest passion is people; his colleagues, partners, clients, and consumers who are a constant reminder of the value and innovation that Panasonic brings to Canadians each day.
Before joining Panasonic, Michael served as President and CEO of satellite radio operator XM Canada (XSR.TO) from 2008 until 2011, where he oversaw the successful merger with Sirius Radio Canada. Prior to XM Canada, he was President, Americas International of Palm Inc. where he managed Canada, Latin America and the Caribbean region. Michael holds a B.A. from York University and an MBA from Dalhousie University.
In 2003, Michael was named one of Canada's Top 40 Under 40, an award presented to exceptional Canadians under the age of 40, who are outstanding leaders in their chosen fields and who are shaping our country's future.
Michael is currently a Member of the Board of Industry Leaders of the Consumer Technology Association. In 2017 he became a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), the premier leadership organization of chief executives in the world. As a life-long learner who is committed to and passionate about both professional and personal growth, he enjoys giving back to his community and sharing his insights and experience through university and public speaking engagements.
Michael is passionate about fitness and competitive sports and utilizes his drive to succeed on the field. While his personal, professional, and community commitments are of great importance to Michael, he’s not shy to say that his greatest achievement in life is becoming a father.
