Panasonic Announces Two New Full-Frame Mirrorless Cameras: LUMIX S1II and LUMIX S1IIE

Panasonic is pleased to announce the expansion of its renowned LUMIX S Series with the introduction of two new models, the LUMIX S1II and S1IIE. These cameras are designed to offer exceptional photographic and videographic capabilities, characterized by exceptional image quality, dynamic colour representation, and significant advancements in video technology.

The LUMIX S1II is meticulously crafted for professional photographers and videographers. It features a newly developed 24.1MP full-frame partially stacked CMOS image sensor and is powered by an advanced-generation Venus Engine. This synergy allows for faster readout speeds and processing, facilitating high frame rate recording in formats such as 4K120p and 5.8K 60p. (*2) Furthermore, it excels with dynamic range with the Dynamic Range Boost mode, achieving up to 15 stops (*3) in V-Log at frame rates below 30p. On the photography side, high-speed continuous shooting of up to 70 frames per second (*4) with SH / SH pre-burst shooting up to 1.5 seconds ensures the capture of fleeting moments.

Elevating workflow efficiency, the LUMIX S1II enhances versatility and streamlines content production. The highly-regarded Open Gate feature now supports formats beyond 6K30p, enabling 5.1K60p, thereby broadening creative possibilities for users. A future firmware update promises the addition of multiple frame marker displays for further enhancing creative flexibility.

The LUMIX S1IIE, forming another part of the second-generation S1 series, maintains the celebrated design and ergonomic excellence of the S1II and S1RII, offering potential for creative exploration. It is equipped with a 24.2MP sensor inspired by the characteristics of the LUMIX S5II, thus ensuring exceptional image quality tailored for diverse shooting conditions. It includes standout features from the S1II, positioning itself as a comprehensive tool for creative projects. Notably, the LUMIX S1IIE introduces a new Cinemascope video format (2.4:1) available in various frame rates including 60p without cropping.
Panasonic anticipates that the LUMIX S1IIE will be the preferred choice for those seeking upgrades in ergonomic design and refined engineering.

By introducing the LUMIX S1II, which caters to professional photography and video workflows, and the LUMIX S1IIE, which offers operational ease equivalent to high-end models for users embarking on higher grade content creation, we aim to support creators in their pursuit of self-expression within the S1 Series.

Additionally, for LUMIX Europe customers, every purchase of the new LUMIX S products and registration on My Panasonic comes with an exclusive 5-year extended warranty, offering unmatched peace of mind (terms and conditions apply).

The LUMIX S1II will be available in June 2025 for RRP £2,899.00
