Cheesy Japanese Croquette (Korokke)
Our Cheesy Japanese Croquette offers a lighter take on a comforting favourite. Made with a blend of mashed potatoes and vegetables, these croquettes are filled with a touch of cheese for a satisfying melt. Healthy-fried instead of deep-fried, they’re lower in oil while still delivering a crispy golden crust. Packed with wholesome ingredients and portion-controlled for balance, it’s a delicious way to enjoy a savoury snack or side without the guilt.

- 100 gMinced beef
- 80 gOnions, chopped
- 40 gCarrot, chopped
- 400 gPotatoes, peeled and boiled
- ½ tbsp Cooking oil
- ½ tbsp Japanese soy sauce
- 1½ tbsp Japanese mayonnaise
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 pcsSmall mozzarella cheese cube
- 1½ cup Plain flour
- 1Medium-large egg, beaten
- 1 cupPanko breadcrumbs
- 50 mlOil to spray
Steps
1) Heat up oil in a frying pan, sauté onion until translucent. Then, add in carrot and stir fry for 1-2 minutes. Add in beef and stir fry until almost cooked and season with soy sauce. Mix well and set aside to cool completely.
2) Preheat Panasonic Cubie Oven, select HEALTY FRY -> START.
3) Mash cooked potato with potato masher or fork. Then, add in the beef mixture, mayonnaise, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
4) Divide potato mixture into 12 portions. Flatten it a bit and put the cheese cube in the middle. Shape it into ovals and dip each piece into the flour, egg and then the breadcrumbs.
5) Arrange it onto the baking tray and spray some oil to coat it evenly. Place into the preheated Panasonic Cubie Oven select 15 MINUTES -> START or fry until golden brown.
6) Turn the korokke over half way through and spray some oil to coat it evenly, so that both sides are golden and crispy.
