Ingredients

For the tea soup

  • 40 gFresh Thai basil
  • 30 gFresh mint leave
  • ¼ cup Fresh coriander, roughly chopped
  • 2/3 cup Toasted peanut
  • 3 tbspToasted sesame seeds
  • 2 tspCooking oil
  • 1 tspChopped garlic, sautéed
  • 2 tbspDried Chinese/green tea leaves
  • 5 cups Water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

For side dishes:

  • 500 gSayur manis
  • 500 gKailan, roughly chopped
  • 1 -2 stalks Chinese leek, thinly sliced
  • 100 gSalted radish (choy bo)
  • 1 cupRoasted peanut
  • 6 pcsLong beans, cut into cubes
  • 60 gDried shrimp (optional)
  • 2 pcsFirm tofu, cut into small cubes
  • 2 nosOnion, minced
  • 4-6 nos Garlic clove, minced
  • 4-6 bowls Cooked brown rice

Steps

1) To make the soup, place all the soup ingredients into Panasonic Cooking Blender, select SOUP -> START. Serve immediately to prevent oxidization (will change to brown colour).

2) For dried shrimp radish, stir fry radish until dry and set aside. Then, heat up oil in the same frying pan and sauté dried shrimp and onion until fragrant.  Add in the fried radish and mix well. Set aside.

3) For tofu, pan fry with some oil until golden brown and season with salt. Set aside.

4) For each vegetable, stir fry with garlic until aromatic and soft. Season with salt and set aside.

5) To assemble the rice bowl, place the rice in the middle of serving deep plate and arrange the side dishes surrounding the rice. Pour in the tea soup and enjoy!

Chef tip: The soup recipe can adjust to be paste which can be stored for later use or added to pasta and Asian salad bowl.

Method: For the soup paste, place all the soup ingredients excluded water into Panasonic Cooking Blender, select M-> --˚C (no cooking) -> START->1-> START. Blend all ingredients becomes a smooth paste. Add in some oil if needed. Store in air tight container and keep in chiller.
