Japanese Kare Pan
Kare pan is a popular Japanese curry bread coated with crispy panko and fried till golden perfection. If you are a huge fan of Japanese curry, here’s a recipe for you to make these delicious buns at home.
To cook Japanese curry, heat up a pot with Bertolli Extra Light Olive Oil and sauté the onions till fragrant. Add chicken and stir-fry for 20 seconds.
Add in the carrots, Japanese curry cube and pinch of McCormick Chilli Ground. Stir to mix well then pour in Anchor Whipping Cream and water. Let simmer for 10 minutes or till gravy thickens.
Set aside to cool.
To make the bread, put all the bread ingredients except the yeast into Panasonic bread maker pan. Put yeast into the yeast dispenser.
Select Menu 9 and press start. Once done remove dough and divide into 7 portions.
Roll dough out and put a spoonful of Japanese curry filling into it and fold up the sides to seal.
Dip dough into egg and then into bread crumbs.
Shallow fry until golden brown on medium heat. Remove from oil and drain on kitchen towel. Set aside to cool.
