Korean Fried Chicken Gua Bao
Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Gua Bao is a dish that everyone raves about. Soft and fluffy steamed bao buns filled with crispy Korean chicken, they are so tender, juicy and busting with flavour!
Place all the ingredients for the mantou in the Panasonic bread maker, except for yeast which goes into the yeast dispenser. Select Menu 9. Alternatively, knead by hand until smooth and ferment in Cubie oven for 30 minutes.
Divide the dough into 8 pieces and round into balls.
Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough into oblong shapes and fold each piece into half, placing a piece of parchment paper in between each fold.
Place the mantou onto the 2 lined oven trays and ferment for 30 minutes in the Cubie oven.
When the Ferment cycle has completed, cook the mantou on Steam-Med for 20 minutes.
To prepare the chicken, marinate the fillets with salt, white pepper, garlic powder and onion powder, then coat with cornflour and rice flour.
For the sauce, mix together all the ingredients and set aside.
Cook the chicken on Healthy Fry for 30 mins.
After 20 minutes, remove from oven and brush sauce onto chicken.
Return chicken into oven and continue to cook for another 10 minutes. Once done, cut them into small pieces.
To assemble, arrange chicken, lettuce, cucumber and spring onions in the fold of each mantou. Serve immediately.
