In 2014, Panasonic expanded its successful bridge camera range with the DMC-FZ1000. It thus opened up the market segment for all-in-one superzoom cameras to semi-professional and professional users too.

The DMC-FZ1000 featured a 1-inch image sensor and was the first LUMIX camera to do so. The 1-inch High Sensitivity MOS sensor had a 20.1-megapixel resolution and offered the perfect balance between convenience and image quality.

The fast LEICA DC VARIO-ELMARIT 25-400mm/F2.8-4.0 lens impressed experts with its excellent descriptive performance and flexibility, allowing anything from wide-angle to super telephoto shots.

Another highlight of the DMC-FZ1000: the LUMIX superzoom was the world’s first compact camera to record 4K videos.
