Reduction of CO2 emissions

Based on the Panasonic Group's long-term environmental vision for a carbon-neutral society, "Panasonic GREEN IMPACT," and Panasonic Industry's Environmental Vision, we are promoting energy-saving activities and the introduction of renewable energy. We have set target to achieve net zero CO2 emissions* in each region, and our aim is to achieve net zero CO2 emissions for all our manufacturing sites globally by 2030.

We have set a roadmap to achieve net zero CO2 emissions for all our manufacturing sites by 2025 in Europe and North America, by 2027 in Southeast Asia, and by 2030 in Japan and Taiwan. We have already achieved net zero CO2 emissions in China in fiscal 2023.

* Achieving net-zero CO2 emissions through energy saving and the introduction of renewable energy, along with the use of power certificates and CO2 credits

Major challenges

  • Sharing and promoting best practices in thorough energy-saving initiatives and the introduction of renewable energy
  • Steady promotion of business plan with performance management and visualization
  • Supporting energy-saving activities at domestic and overseas sites

Energy saving case examples

  1. Introducing and optimizing the operation of high-efficiency chillers, HVAC, pumps, vacuum pumps, and compressors
  2. Investigating the losses of operation and optimization production, air compressors, and lightings by visualization of energy consumption, and measuring to protect air leakage
  3. Improvement of operational losses and yield in production equipment
  4. Development of energy-saving promotion members through practical energy-saving activities at domestic and overseas business sites

Introduction of renewable energy

We are implementing large-scale solar power generation systems and procuring renewable energy such as geothermal power generation and wind power generation at our domestic and overseas manufacturing sites.
