Chicken Satay

Satay is a famous food in Southeast Asia. This recipe uses dried spices but they are also best made with fresh ingredients such like raw ginger, garlic, onion, turmeric!


Ingredients

- 250 gChicken, cut into bite size
- 1Lemon grass, finely chopped bottom half
- ½ tsp McCormick Ginger Ground
- ½ tsp McCormick Garlic Powder
- ½ tsp McCormick Onion Powder
- 1 tspMcCormick Turmeric Ground
- ½ tsp McCormick Cumin Ground
- ½ tsp McCormick Coriander Seeds Ground
- ½ tsp Salt
- 30 gSugar
- 1 tbspBertolli Olive Oil
Method
STEP 1
Mix all the ingredients together and leave aside to marinate for an hour.
STEP 2
Thread the chicken into the skewers and set aside.
STEP 3
Grill in Panasonic cubie oven for 10 - 13 minutes.
STEP 4
Serve with peanut sauce and side dishes.
Ingredients
Peanut Sauce
- 1Red onion, cut into chunks
- ½ tsp McCormick Ginger Ground
- 1Lemon grass
- 50 gChilli paste
- 15 gSugar
- 3 gSalt
- 75 gPeanuts, roasted and roughly blended
- 200 mlWater
- 1 tspTamarind + 2 tbs Water
- 50 mlBertolli Olive Oil
Condiments
- 4 pcNasi himpit
- ½ nos Cucumber, rough cut
- 1Red onion, cut into wedges
Method
STEP 1
Blend onion, McCormick Ginger Ground, lemongrass, chilli paste and oil in the Panasonic Mixer Grinder till smooth.
STEP 2
Heat up a pot and saute blended ingredients till fragrant (pecah minyak) then add in water, tamarind juice, sugar, salt, and peanuts. Simmer to desired thickness.
