1. At-Home Spa Treatment

There is no better time than the present to try out a new pamper/ beauty regime. Why not turn an afternoon at home into your very own miniature spa day?  Here are some of Louise’s favourite tips for a calming skincare cleanse..

Between professional consultations with a skincare expert, the Panasonic devices can absolutely help you to build an effective at-home facial treatment.

Whilst using the steamer, you can be double cleansing the skin. This will help to softly open your pores and make the process more relaxing, and efficient. You would then follow this step with a gentle exfoliation.

I would then recommend that you build in the Panasonic 3-in-1 enhancer. This has a fantastic purifying phase which works fantastically around the nose and skin, where my pores are a bit more dilated and clogged. I would do the purifying phase first, before then switching to the moisturisation and cooling steps

Finally, you could really indulge and use the Panasonic Radio Frequency device. This is used to tighten, lift, and sculpt the tissue, which in turn helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

All of the above can be built into a good 45 minutes to an hour at-home calming, luxury facial.

2. How does sleep effect your skin?

If you have trouble with sleeping, these tips from Louise may help your sleep schedule and your skin!

So we all know about the cliché of beauty sleep, but it really is so important for skin health and something I talk to my clients about a lot is building an effective sleep routine. Having time to wind-down leading up to bed, whether you run a lovely bath, read a book, put your devices down, or have a camomile tea, it’s really important to do something that actually prepares your body for sleep.

We see the negative effects of lack of sleep through the skin in many ways. From an ageing perspective, it effects the growth hormones and therefore accelerates the process. It also stresses the skin, so if you’re an acne sufferer for example, you might notice that your lesions take longer to heal if you’re struggling to get some good quality sleep.

I also recommend that you eat magnesium enriched foods, especially leading up to bedtime. Magnesium is a traced mineral and it’s really good for supporting the adrenal glands. It’s a mild sedative so it will really help to support a good night sleep.

3. Myth busting – Drinking Water

Whilst drinking enough water is absolutely crucial for overall health and wellbeing as well as the health of your skin, Louise also has some top tips for even more effective skin hydration..

The best way actually to hydrate your skin and to re-build that lipid barrier is by eating good fats. Sources of good fats will come from oily fish, walnuts, chia and flaxseeds. It you are already eating those, it maybe that you look for a really good omega based supplement to complement this even further. That is actually the best way to hydrate your skin from within.
