We aim to powering a society where shared well-being and environmental sustainability thrive together.

Action Policy

  1. Through our technological capabilities and business activities, we will provide our customers with products and solutions that enable customers to live comfortably and conveniently and contribute to the environment.
  2. We are working to reduce CO2 emissions throughout the supply chain by promoting energy conservation in our own business activities and introducing clean energy. We are also working to expand Avoided CO2 Emissions by providing our products and solutions.
  3. We will promote the transition to Circular Economy business, such as the promotion of the use of recycled materials, and work towards reducing waste to lessen the environmental burden, contributing to the realization of a sustainable society.
  4. We will assess the dependencies and impacts of our business activities on biodiversity and promote initiatives throughout the supply chain to mitigate impacts on nature and to support its conservation and restoration, working toward harmonious coexistence with the natural environment.
  5. We will strengthen communication with customers and local communities and fulfill our social responsibility to our stakeholders through the publication of Integrated Report and other information dissemination.
  6. We will strengthen our compliance system with environmental laws and regulations and comply with legal and other requirements applicable to our products and business activities.
  7. We will develop environmental human resources by clarifying the role of each employee in environmental initiatives and developing education systems for each business, function, and class.
  8. We regularly review and continuously improve our EMS, and all divisions and employees contribute to the promotion of environmental management in All-hands activities.

We will make this Environmental Policy open to the public, disseminate it to all employees and parties concerned, development to specific objectives or targets, and promote All-hands activities through all divisions and all employees consider environmental contribution.

Environment Promotion System

As the basis of environmental management, Panasonic Energy Co., Ltd. has established an environmental management system at each production site, acquired ISO14001 certification, and established the environmental promotion system shown in the diagram below.

Environmental Education

We provide education on environmental activities for all employees through Intranet and special education for persons in charge of environment on global basis.

As an example of education for all employees, we implement job functional-specific environmental training. In this training, we explain the connection between core business activities and environmental contributions for each job function, enabling all employees to engage in activities toward the realization of a society where "Powering a society where shared well-being and environmental sustainability thrive together." through the promotion of their core business.

In terms of specialized training, we provide education based on job roles and levels. This year, we are conducting e-learning on waste management for all employees, as well as training for manufacturing site personnel on achieving decarbonization.

In the APAC region, we hold seminars on our management standards and conduct improvement activities with on-site inspection, aiming for improvement in management level.

Internal Environmental Audit

We conduct internal environmental audits every year at all sites to check operation of the Environmental Management System (EMS) in accordance with the following priority audit items to ensure reliable compliance with laws, regulations, and other requirements.

Additionally, since the establishment of our company in 2022, we have held cross-company environmental audits with other companies. We will extend our knowledge by incorporating other company auditors' opinions, aiming for improvement in management level.

Chemical Substance Management

Management of Chemical Substances in Products

Based on Panasonic Group's view of reduction of environmental impact by chemical substances, Our company provides solutions to customers globally "to achieve a sustainable society" and "to minimize an impact on the environment" through our products, such as primary / secondary batteries and battery application products etc.

Communication in the Supply Chain (Information transmission on chemical substances)

With "Product Chemical Substance Management System," Panasonic collects information on components, devices and materials which suppliers distribute, and quickly responds to survey requests from customers on chemical substances contained in products. Panasonic makes efforts to reduce workload for information transmission among companies by using industrial standard formats as survey forms for suppliers.

Management of Chemical Substances at Factories

Panasonic Group manages chemical substances according to "Chemical Substances Management Rank Guidelines (for factories)", by selecting chemical substances that are hazardous to human health and environment based on major laws and regulations on chemical substances.
In addition, Panasonic developed "Human Environment Impact (HEI)", by adding hazardousness index to each substance weighted based on its hazardousness.

Our company that uses various chemical substances in manufacturing products for wide range of industries is working on reduction of human environment impact through activities, such as use of alternative materials, development of production process to reduce transfer amount, and promotion of recycling of wastes.

Chemical Substances Management Rank Guidelines

To promote our initiatives clearly, we set forth "Chemical Substances Management Guidelines".
The Guidelines aims to specify which chemical substances should be prohibited for use or be controlled both for products and for factories.
The Company requests adherence to the Guidelines not only within our company but also to our suppliers based on the Green Procurement Standards.

Local Environmental Contribution Activities
("Panasonic Eco Relay for Sustainable Earth")

This symbol represents the community contribution activities promoted by the Panasonic Group.

Panasonic Group has implemented various region-based environmental activities designed by its employees themselves, involving local residents, children, and employees' family.
It is named "Panasonic Eco Relay for Sustainable Earth", with the thoughts of "linking beyond generations". We are aiming at contributing to building sustainable earth and society.
Our Company is also participating in this activity as a member of Panasonic Group. Each and every employee around the world is implementing environmental activities as a global citizen, and is trying to contribute to regional environment. Here are examples of such activities.

Moriguchi Factory (Osaka,Japan)

As part of our efforts to contribute to the local community, we carry out community cleanup activities around the site once a month with the cooperation of employees working at the Moriguchi factory.

This is the 15 years anniversary of the joint community cleanup with neighboring companies since 2010. Cleaning activities around the plant are conducted once a month.

Panasonic Energy (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (Thailand)

In June 2023, we participated in tree-planting activities with Samrong Nues District Municipality. 17 employees attended the event to promote World Environment Day(On June 5) and to celebrate Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's birthday. and conducted Panasonic GREEN IMPACT training as part of our environmental education program for all employees.

Panasonic Energy India Co., Ltd. (India)

In conjunction with World Environment Day on June 5, 2025, we held an in-house environmental awareness campaign as Environment Week. During Environment Week, we displayed environmental awareness posters in local languages, planted six orange jasmine saplings within the premises, and conducted training programs related to environmental topics.
